Fourteen years ago, I was a nurse, doing everything I had been taught to help others feel better. But after leaving nursing, I couldn't bring myself to pass another prescription. I knew there had to be a better way. That curiosity led me down the path of holistic medicine, where I immersed myself in Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine for over a decade.

Despite my background, there were two pivotal times in my life when my hormones—and especially my cortisol—were completely out of balance. And let me tell you, it was one of the hardest things I’ve ever experienced.

I couldn’t lose weight no matter how much I tried. I felt puffy and inflamed. My face was bloated, my energy was depleted, and no matter how much I slept, I woke up exhausted. I felt like a stranger in my own body—and nothing seemed to work.

I thought I was doing all the right things, but the truth? I was overcomplicating it.
